Torshi Egyptian Food:
Pros: Beautiful presentation. Great service - the staff member noticed that we were low on pita and heavy on the hummus left so he brought us extra pita bread at no cost.
Cons: Very heavy on the tahini which gave our hummus a peanut buttery taste.
Elysian Seafood:
Ordered the marinated crab claws which were good but not great! Lacked a bit of flavor. Looking at past reviews - others had bread served along side their dish which I was not. Bread would have been great since the sauce was left over and thrown out.
Fritai:
Crab Macaroni and Cheese! This. Was. The. Best. Thing. We. Ordered. At. The. Market!!! So good that we didn't get a picture of the dish and we overate because didn't want a single drop to go to waste!!! -

Came to New orleans for the 4th time. I usually keep close to the bourbon street area but another restaurant I wanted to try took me away. Their wait times were ridiculous (3 hours). We headed over to the Market to see what was good.
After 4 laps, I chose to try the pork belly bao from the vietnamese spot in the back. Lays potatoes chips!! Couldn't have just one. We ended up ordering 3 orders of bao buns. Of course that wasn't enough. We added a bowl of pho and it was delicious.
Not sure why, but we decided to try the Malaysian noodles. FIRE!! But too much to eat, maybe we were already stuffed. Lol. Great place to try different foods at great prices -

My absolute favorite place in all of the New Orleans area!!!!!!
Great selection of restaurants, bakery and bar.
Loved the Chicken on a cat head biscuit with sausage gravy, wow!!!
And the Praline Bacon OUT OF THIS WORLD.
Can hardly wait to go back. Need to not eat for a day so I can eat more.
Great building.
Service at a few places was not great (coffee shop) but it was stellar at others -

It's a small indoor moderately scaled food court with about 8-10 vendors including a bar. The drinks are creative and pretty good. You can also get all types of food including Asian, if you're craving a banh mi or pho. There's also middle eastern food with a delicious juice bar. And if you're craving Cajun or creole food, they have that too. In the mood for sweets? They got you covered there too! Raw bar and wanting oysters? Check! All in all, a variety of food for whatever mood you're in or if you just want to get wasted. They open really early as well (6:30am) if you are staying nearby and want some coffee.

All I can say is - Wow !!
This is one of the greatest Gems I've ever seen in NOLA and I wish this was here in my undergraduate days!
The concept of a "food court/coffee shop" is pure genius. They have a variety of original eateries from sandwiches shops to, seafood cuisine, to Caribbean food, and so much more. They also have a nice coffee spot as well as a bar.
There is ample seating and the noise level is just right; it's loud enough that you want to kick back and converse, but quiet enough that you can study with headphones.
There were so many places I wanted to try but I decided to try "Elysian Seafood". I got the crab cake plate and my friend got the BBQ Shrimp po-boy. The crab cake was seasoned well and the corn sauce on top was great. The only downfall is that it was a small crab cake and not filling. I tried the po-boy and it's a winner!
